BF- Rated

After 4 mth of procrastinating, I finally got my Ameda electric pump! It cost me $299. (not cheap, but I got $1 change, which felt a wee tiny better)

I love my Avent pump still, but wanted to save 5min (yes, just 5min, so don't question why I got my pump), able to go handsfree. I guess that's about it. I mean I am planning for a 2nd child, so that gave me a greater rational to get this electrical pump. :P

Ask me on the output, well.........about as good as my manual. Still, nothing beats Joshua latching on.

Thinking back how blessed I was, starting off breastfeeding; no engorgement, no cracked nipples, no bleeding, just sore nipples.

The only pain I had to endure was Joshua's cries, as he struggled to latch on.

2 more weeks and Joshua will be 6mth old. I would have done my part to fulfill the minimum 6mth requirement that WHO is reccomending for infants. I like breastfeeding, I hope to go as far as 2years old. Not sure if I could say I am a strong advocater for breastfeeding. But every new mummy I chance upon, I would encourage them to do so.

For all the new mummies that plan to breastfeed, I look up the Cambridge Dictionary :

Latch onto sth : to become interested in an idea, story or activity, and to start to use it.

So, remember your baby does need some time to be insterested with your breast before he starts wanting milk from it.

Keep perserving, and you will be just a rewarding mummy like me!
