First Hit

Joshua experienced his first "taste of the floor" at Deary's friend's house yesterday night. We were there to reach out to the family, who has a 6mth old baby girl.

We were never really the protective kind of parents, and we believed that children should be allowed to explore, and experienced pain themselves. Not that we were nonchalant about his safety.......

It was when Joshua was doing his usual balancing act on his tummy, like a tiny superhero, when suddenly he hit his face on the rubber mat.

For the first time, we heard him WAILED! Took me quite a while to calm him down, his eyes all teary with tears, lips pouting, face all red.

Yet within the next minute, he was looking at the rubber mat, feet kicking the mat, ( probably telling off the rubber mat, venting his litte anger). Then, he was struggling to come down from me, before you know it, he was back on the floor tossing and doing his superhero act.

Ha! Children are amazing, they learnt and pick themselves up fast after a fall.

Hmm....you think about adults. How some could be so discouraged, that they never regain their confidence after a failure.

This is probably what God meant by " child-like faith"
