To mark this 1 year old celebration, it was a simple, casual celebration with close friends at my mum's place, with home cooked food. I thank you all for your presence, for all your well-wishing and blessing for Joshua. It was a good time of catching up.
We had been parents for 1 yr, time seems to fly by un-noticeably, if you ask me if it was tough, not really. Joshua had been a good and easy baby, no cries when he is hungry, does not fuss when he is wet or dirty. Only the teething period, falling sick, plus the recent high-activity months prove to be a little draining of energy on us.
If you ask any parents, their smiles, their little giggles, their woo-ahhs, their swaying of litte butt when they first walk, their little waves simply melt your heart.
1 year marks the beginning of a whole new fun and excitement :
-Exposure to new food (So Uncles and Aunts, don't wave your fries, chocolate at Joshua)
-More jabbering of new words
-More 10m sprints after the little guy
-Being tactful in our words ( not too sure what or when he picks up from us)
-New teachings ( potty-training, self-feeding, self-dressing, gosh.. )
-Discipline.....this is tough, we are still learning how best to handle his demands. He negotiates!
The list can go on, I wish I have more time with him to teach him. Yet now, I can only trust in the Lord to guide him as he grows.
Our prayers for you Joshie, that you grow strong and healthy. Filled with the spirit and wisdom of God. That you always be a fighter of faith, a warrior for God. Amen :)
